AudioUK is strongly committed to the development of our sector in a way that reflects the diversity, character and spread of the whole population of the United Kingdom.  We believe that it is a great strength of our sector that our membership is spread right across the four nations.

AudioUK has a Nations and Regions sub-committee, comprised of members from locations around the UK. The sub-committee focusses on how tAudioUK can further the interests of production companies based outside the M25, in terms of access to commissioners and highlighting the diverse work of those procducers. To contact the sub-committee, please contact Will Jackson, AudioUK Managing Director.

Our Nations and regions policy includes:

  • Encouraging members to set up local AudioUK networks in the nations and regions

  • Holding or supporting events around the UK for example through our Audiotrain programme

  • Working with the BBC to encourage more out-of-London commissioning events and engagement

  • Engaging with Ofcom to ensure that its BBC regulation includes making sure there is a level playing field in commissioning for production companies all around the UK, including making sure the BBC meets of its out-of -London spending targets
